I Have a Dream (PDF) – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave this famous speech on August 28, 1963. It’s the one in which he said, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Every student should have a copy of the “I Have a Dream” speech to read and study. What does MLK Jr. say about the American Dream? Circle any Biblical references. Underline the quotes from the Declaration of Independence. Find the patriotic song verse. Compare and contrast his ideology to that of the modern BLM movement. Choose your favorite part of the speech to memorize and recite.
