WANTED: Homeschooling Teen Volunteers!

Attention Homeschooling Teens! Would you like to develop your skills and put your talents to good use while serving the homeschool community? Volunteer with Homeschooling Teen magazine and get credit for service learning while gaining valuable experience for college applications and resumes. Homeschooling Teen is seeking homeschool students or graduates to serve in the following capacities:

Public Relations/Social Media Assistant
-Engage in brainstorm sessions for a better social media impact via Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, blogs, e-mails, etc.
-Plan, strategize, and schedule daily and weekly Facebook posts and Tweets
-Build relationships and increase interaction among homeschool teens with questions, comments, and links on Homeschooling Teen pages and social media outlets
-Utilize social networking opportunities to increase awareness of Homeschooling Teen
-Research and identify bloggers; then communicate and build relationships with them
-Analyze, formulate, and implement ideas to increase Homeschooling Teen’s readership
-Explore, propose, and implement marketing strategies to promote Homeschooling Teen
-Work with outside companies to host giveaways, contests, and promotions
-Write press releases and assist with the copy writing of marketing materials
-Help drive online traffic with web-related campaigns
-Search engine optimization tasks – improve page content, keyword relevancy, tags, etc.
-Keep up to date with internet and marketing trends, and contribute this knowledge as an integral member of the team

Graphic Design Assistant
-Engage in brainstorming and mocking up design ideas
-Work with words and pictures, both print and web-based
-Make flyers, brochures, logos, and t-shirt designs for Homeschooling Teen
-Create buttons, badges, banners, and images for the Homeschooling Teen website
-Take photographs and draw illustrations for Homeschooling Teen
-Must have artistic talent, technical skill, ability to effectively present ideas (both verbally and visually), be able to meet deadlines, and love a good challenge

Qualifications:
Homeschooling teen or graduate
Dedicated to the goals of Homeschooling Teen magazine
Positive and enthusiastic attitude
Good work ethic, self-motivated and dependable
Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
Strong verbal and/or visual communication skills
Technical proficiency and web savvy
Creative, innovative, and willing to contribute ideas
Strong sense of initiative and a “can do” attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to catch and cast a vision
Passion for helping others
