A survey of 23,000 K-12 students found that YouTube and email are the most common apps that they use. The survey was conducted between August and December 2022 by The Social Institute, a company that provides curriculum addressing social-emotional learning, social media and technology.
The survey results show that YouTube is the most common app used on a weekly basis by 4th-12th graders; and for 9th-12th graders, email is the second most common app. The survey also found that the most-used devices among students are school-issued devices, home TVs, and personal smartphones.
The fact that YouTube is the most-used app is not surprising. No matter what kind of video you want to watch or post, you can do it all on YouTube. You can watch YouTube videos on your computer, tablet, smartphone, or smart TV. Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world.
YouTube is not only the kingdom of digital entertainment but it can also be a great environment for learning, especially for visual learners. It’s one thing to talk about Mount Saint Helens erupting in science class. It’s another thing altogether to watch a video of the volcano’s summit exploding into dust!
If you are creating music, YouTube is a great way to reach the public. You can make your own music video, upload it online, and see what the public thinks about it. You will also be able to start a channel of your music, and the people who are interested in your music can subscribe, so they will be the first to know when you publish a new song.
If you have a business and are looking for a cheap means of advertising, YouTube is the way to go. It’s a great tool for getting your product out there, showing people how to assemble and use it, and for announcing new products or services.
If you just want to watch the videos that are on YouTube, all you need to do is go to the site and watch them. You can find videos on how to make stuff, home repair, gardening, homesteading, car and truck repair, science experiments, rocket launches, weather, math lessons, history, travel, sports, exercise, makeup tutorials, church sermons, music, movie trailers, game playthroughs, commercials, cartoons, comedies, documentaries, news reports, classic movies and TV shows, cute animals, bloopers, and much more!
Since there’s such a wealth of content both entertaining and informative on YouTube, it’s a good thing the platform makes it easy to save videos on your playlist so you can come back to them whenever you like. If you find a video that you enjoy and want to share with others, you have multiple options for sharing it. Email sharing is available, along with sharing options for the major social networking services.
Like other social media platforms, you can leave a comment on a YouTube video and reply to comments. Live-streamed videos even have live chats that you can follow. And don’t forget to give the video a thumbs-up if you like it! It’s always nice when a creator sees someone appreciate their content. 🙂
