Tweak Your Exam Technique Infographic

By Aris Grigoriou

No matter how hard you study, sometimes your exam technique can let you down. This infographic from Study Medicine Europe takes you through how you can improve your exam technique to ensure you get the results you want.

Most students still do some work the night before and this is a time to really be smart about how you approach things. You don’t want to go into your final study session feeling stressed out. It is generally a good idea to try to do a little bit of exercise before you kick things off, as it releases endorphins to help keep you calm.

It can be tempting to binge eat when you’re stressed, but you should really try to eat healthily. Of course, no matter how much work you need to do, never stay up too late. Your brain needs time to process the new information anyway so you may as well catch up on some sleep.

It’s also important to get things right on the morning of the exam to ensure you feel good in the exam hall. Even though you may feel a bit nervous, be sure to have a nutritious breakfast as you don’t want to find yourself hungry during the exam.

In the exam your mind must be sharp, so it’s vital that you approach the exam in a focused manner. Make sure to read the instructions carefully, manage your time effectively, and relax into the exam by picking up the easy marks first.

Answering essay questions in a structured manner rather than just writing every random thing you know about a topic is also vital. Whether the exam goes well or goes badly; try to forget about it as soon as possible. Concentrate your efforts on getting ready for the next one and give it your all!
