Summer Nights

By Hannah Barber

Fireflies dance
Across a burning sky
Now is our chance
To learn how to fly-
Young and free
Waltzing on the grass
Just you and me
No whispers from the past.
Honeysuckle breeze
Blows sweet and strong
Our night to seize
Our summer time song.
Fireflies glow
Tiny stars around your face
This nightly show
In my favorite place.
Summer nights
In my backyard
Wondrous sights
Near and far.
