Schooling Around the World

There are about 2.2 million home-educated students in grades K to 12 in the United States. Home-based education is also growing around the world in many other nations such as Australia, Canada, France, Hungary, Japan, Kenya, Russia, Mexico, South Korea, Thailand, and the United Kingdom ( But did you know that as many as 1 in 5 adults in the developing world are illiterate? Or that at age 16, students in Germany have the option of becoming an apprentice in a career they would like to pursue?
