Rehab 4 Addiction Scholarship 2019

Rehab 4 AddictionBy Oliver Clark

My name is Oliver and I run a free drug and alcohol helpline called Rehab 4 Addiction. Rehab 4 Addiction assists people seeking drug and alcohol rehab services across the globe. We are also happy to assist young people looking to enter this field.

To further this aim, we are offering a $1,000 scholarship to U.S. students who are pursuing a medical-related course of study at a North American-based accredited college or university. Some example areas of study include:

  • Counseling
  • Pre-med
  • Emergency medicine
  • Nursing
  • Social work
  • Psychology

Graduating high school seniors who have been accepted at a higher education facility and plan to continue their enrollment to pursue an education in healthcare or any subject that’s medical-related are also encouraged to apply.

To register your interest in obtaining the $1,000 scholarship, you must submit a short 500-word essay. This essay must outline why you are passionate about your area of study, emphasizing why you wish to help people suffering from substance abuse and/or mental health problems.

The subject matter that forms the body of your submission may be inspired or based upon either professional experience or it may take the form of a personal narrative. For example, you could outline what you learned when undertaking practical work experience in this area. Alternatively, you could consider writing about a personal recovery story you have experienced either yourself or within your family.

Here are a number of resources on our website explaining how our scholarship program works:

Award selection will be based upon:

  • Completed application
  • Originality (20%)
  • Creativity (20%)
  • Writing Skills (20%)
  • Inspiration (20%)
  • Demonstrated interest in addiction treatment and recovery (20%)

Submissions must be received by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on October 30, 2019. The winner will be notified following the deadline and the award will be credited to the student’s school.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Regards,

Ollie
