One of the benefits of living in the low desert of Arizona or other warm areas of the United States (such as Florida, California, and Texas) is the ability to grow citrus trees in your backyard. The sun and soil are perfect for growing oranges, tangerines, lemons and grapefruit.
Citrus harvesting time runs from late winter through early spring. Each year, nature provides us with a bounty of tangy lemons, juicy oranges, and delectable tangelos that we can leave on the tree until ready to use. Many types of citrus keep on the tree for months, and they also ripen at different times which prolongs the season.
I love the smell of orange blossoms wafting through the air! But despite the abundant availability of fresh citrus, it wasn’t until we stayed in a hotel in Cedar City, Utah, that we discovered this wonderful citrus shampoo!
Sitting on the bathroom vanity in the hotel room were these cute little mini bottles of Pharmacopia citrus shampoo. The old-fashioned amber glass bottle caught my eye, and once opened, the contents smelled awesome. I was instantly hooked! It wasn’t even a fancy hotel, so I’m surprised they had this stuff.
As soon as we got home I had to find out where to buy this shampoo. Like most things, I was able to find it on Amazon. It’s more expensive than store brands, but the cost is reasonable compared to high-end salon shampoos, plus it’s a pretty big bottle. The main thing is, the shampoo cleans well and rinses easily, meaning it does the job it’s supposed to do – and smells great too!
The added aromatherapy effects of Pharmacopia citrus shampoo make it well worth the price, especially if you have trouble waking up in the morning. Orange Blossom has always been one of my favorite essential oils. Energizing citrus awakens the spirit and uplifts the mood. This shampoo starts every day with a burst of incredible orange!
I also love the safe ingredients in this shampoo. It’s FORMULATED WITHOUT parabens, sulfates, phthalates, animal ingredients, synthetic fragrances, or dyes. Pharmacopia citrus shampoo is a pure, clean, nontoxic shampoo with natural and organic plant ingredients including aloe, jojoba, coconut oil, and chamomile. The natural ingredients nourish the scalp while leaving hair silky smooth and shiny.
The Pharmacopia citrus shampoo leaves my hair feeling clean without drying, rinses out easily and eliminates buildup, enhances shine without stripping, smooths my hair without leaving it heavy or oily, and doesn’t leave a sticky residue. This invigorating shampoo smells delightfully fresh and leaves my hair feeling super soft, while protecting it from dryness caused by the intense sun here in the Sonoran Desert.
Pharmacopia citrus shampoo isn’t a heavy lathering shampoo, so the main drawback is you won’t get lots of suds if you’re used to that. The other problem is the pump mechanism on the full-size bottle. You have to pump it several times to get a decent amount of shampoo to wash your hair. It’s not a big deal, and you can remove it if you want to just pour the shampoo into the palm of your hand, but I do wish the tube was a bit wider so that the shampoo would pump out easier.
Pharmacopia citrus shampoo is a wonderful way to wake up and get going in the morning. The Pharmacopia citrus lineup also includes body wash, lotion and bar soap. All are made of the same natural ingredients and are infused with the energizing essence of essential oil that will awaken your senses while protecting your skin and hair from dryness. 🙂
