Opening Day of the 2015 Basketball season was one to watch.
The first game of the season was on October 27, between the Detroit Pistons and the Atlanta Hawks.
The Pistons won the game 106-94. They outshot the Hawks in every quarter except the fourth. In the first quarter both teams had 25 points. The Pistons really started to take control of the game in the second and third quarter by outshooting the Hawks 23-18 and 34-23. The Hawks put up a good fight in the fourth though by putting up 28 points and holding the Pistons to 24 points. Ultimately it wasn’t enough to win the game.
The second game of the night was between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls, with the Cavaliers looking to start off their season with a good start after losing the NBA Championship to the Golden State Warriors. The Bulls looked to get revenge after losing the Eastern Conference Final to the Cavaliers. The Bulls ended getting the revenge they wanted winning the game 97-95.
In the first half of the game the Bulls were winning 46-40. As the second half started the Cavaliers put up a strong fight, but it wasn’t enough. Lebron James had a total of 25 points and Derrick Rose had 18 points in the game.
The third and final game of Opening Day was between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Golden State Warriors.
This was the only game of the night that wasn’t a very close one. Throughout the game the Warriors dominated against the Pelicans.
With the first week of the season almost over the following teams are still undefeated: Golden State Warriors, L.A. Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, and the Toronto Raptors.
With such an amazing opening day it looks to be a very exciting season.
