My Opinion on the Chromebook

By Alexandria Martinez

Here I present to you a complete 100% honest and raw review of the HP Chromebook 11 g5.

*Note: this is just my opinion and my honest judgment!!*

I have owned this laptop for three years now and I have got to say, this is by far my favorite computer that I have owned. My parents purchased this laptop for me back in 2017 and since, I’ve experienced all of the updates, bugs, and newly added features. This laptop works very efficiently. In my opinion, it’s pretty solid all around.

The features of this laptop include:

  • Operating System – Chrome OS
  • Max Turbo Speed of the Processor – 2.48 GHz
  • Drive Capacity – 16 GB
  • Installed Memory – 4GB RAM
  • 2 USB 3.0 Ports
  • 16GB eMMC Storage
  • Screen Size – 11.6 inches

This laptop is overall compact and easily portable. It sure has been through a lot over the years. I’ve taken it on multiple trips while it bounced around in my backpack, and have taken it to the library thousands of times and it’s still hanging on.

This laptop is great. The battery life is outstanding, I can give it a full charge and it will last a full day and sometimes even longer. One of the things I love is that I have the option to turn on a night light so the screen doesn’t blind me when I’m working at night.

That’s just one of the many helpful features. Another great thing about the Chromebook is that I can take notes offline. For example, if you’re writing and you need to edit but you aren’t online then you can type and edit offline.

It’s also compatible with the Google Play Store to download apps that you may need for work or entertainment. Although, if you are looking to purchase a gaming laptop this is not your choice as it no longer supports Flash in Chrome.

The Chromebook is a great choice for work and education and even entertainment. This laptop is also user-friendly so it would be easy to get adapted to operating. The only downfalls to this laptop I’ve faced are:

  1. The recent discontinue to supporting Adobe Flash on Chrome.
  2. Sometimes the touchscreen can be touchy or freeze up.

Otherwise, Chromebook is mostly compatible with everything else. In conclusion, to end this review, I would like to say that I recommend this laptop 100% as it is one of the very few affordable laptops.

Below I have provided a few links pertaining to some things I have talked about in this review.
