Happy May 2023!
Today I had the pleasure of posting the official 111th issue of Homeschooling Teen magazine! The very first one to be published in this current format went live in January 2014, although we originally began way back in October/November 2008. Home education has come a long way since we got started, and it’s become more popular than ever before! Incidentally, May is Homeschool Awareness Month!
Homeschool Awareness Month aims to demonstrate how homeschooling can be a better option than regular schooling for many kids and that they can have an equivalent, if not better, education while learning from home. At least we don’t have to deal with all the bad influences that are rampant in public schools, nor do we have to be afraid of school shootings. And transgender bathrooms? We all use the same one anyway!
Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated during the first full week of May – this year it runs from May 8 to May 12, 2023 – followed by Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 14th. Home educators don’t always get the credit they deserve, so be sure to do something nice for your mom who teaches you so much!
