Letter from the Editor: January 2021

Dear Readers,

Happy New Year!

2020 was certainly a year for the history books. A trial for many of us, although I consider myself lucky because my situation was not as bad as some people’s.

That being said, I hope your new year is off to a better start than mine.

We had a nice Christmas but then COVID-19 struck our household! My dad is in the hospital, another family member is pretty sick, and possibly 2 or 3 more are showing mild symptoms. As for me, I feel fine at the moment. I was at least hoping to hold out long enough to get the January issue published, and it looks like I made it. So I’ll probably conk off tomorrow, ha!

It sure is a stupid way to start the New Year, though. I had been really looking forward to turning over a new leaf, after all that we had to go through in 2020! But so far everything is continuing as if the calendar never changed! And so much for getting started on my new year’s resolutions…

I think this year I’m going to start over again and celebrate the Chinese New Year instead. That will be on Friday, February 12th. Then again, China was where the coronavirus started in the first place! Oh well, maybe my family and I can celebrate being COVID-free once this is all over.

I hope you, your family and friends are all doing well. And no matter how your year 2020 was, whether good or bad, I hope your 2021 will be better. 🙂

Happy Homeschooling!

  1. More parents are now choosing to homeschool instead of sending their children to public or private schools.

  2. This letter reminds me of my school times
