Homeschooling Around the World

Is it legal? Yes and no. The precise laws and requirements vary from country to country. The countries with the most widespread home education movements include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Some countries have highly regulated home education programs as an extension of the compulsory school system; while others, such as Germany, have outlawed it entirely. In many countries, even though it’s not restricted by law, homeschooling is considered undesirable or not socially acceptable, thus virtually non-existent.
