Many people are unfamiliar with the stories of the Bible and how they fit together into the grand narrative of God’s Word. God gave us the Bible to reveal great truth about himself and about our lives, and he wants to draw us into the ongoing story of what he is doing in the world. The CSB Day-by-Day Chronological Bible features a clear narrative approach to the Bible, arranging the complete text into a fresh chronological reading plan with daily readings.
In this plan, the books, chapters, and verses of the Bible are thoughtfully arranged so readers can track the story of Scripture, day-by-day, from beginning to end, understanding the flow of events and how the grand narrative of Scripture applies to everyday life. Unlike other chronological Bibles, this arrangement is not date specific (e.g. “January 1”), so the reading plan can begin at any point in the calendar year.
This Bible includes 52 weeks of readings (six readings per week) in chronological order. Scripture is presented in three main acts (God’s Plan for All People; God’s Covenant People; God’s New Covenant People) and seventeen total scenes. Each of the acts has an introductory section that explains the setting and orients the reader to its importance in the grand story. Additional Features: single-column text with plenty of space for taking notes, presentation page, concordance, full-color maps, Smyth-sewn binding, two ribbon bookmarks (one brown and one red), and gold gilding on the page edges.

The daily readings are guided by Dr. George Guthrie, Professor of New Testament at Regent College. Dr. Guthrie has published a number of commentaries and other works designed to equip the church to better understand and apply Scripture. He holds both a Ph.D. and M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Th.M. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

The CSB Day-by-Day Chronological Bible is a unique and refreshing way to read God’s Word. If you’ve already read the Bible through once from cover to cover, and don’t particularly relish the idea of starting it all over again, this Bible makes for a nice change of pace by mixing things up a bit.
The CSB Day-by-Day Chronological Bible arranges the passages in an order that facilitates understanding of the overall arc of the Bible’s story. For example, on Day 2, it puts Psalm 8, Psalm 104, and John 1:1-3 after Genesis 1-2 and before Genesis 3, since those verses touch on the topic of Creation. So you can instantly see how the New Testament ties in with the Old Testament to form the whole “big picture,” and their shared importance in the grand scheme of things.
In keeping with the theme of the Bible as a “story,” the CSB Day-by-Day Chronological Bible is printed in a single-column format with wide margins like a regular book. The Bible has questions at the beginning of each session for you to ponder while reading the Scripture of the day. At the end of each week, there is a reflection and meditation portion. The font is easy to read, and the brown imitation leather cover looks rich and feels nice. The Bible comes in a box for giving as a gift or to store it in for protection.
Even though this is a chronological Bible, I love the fact that it’s not dated according to the days of the month – it starts off with “Day One” instead of “January 1” – so you can begin reading it at any time without feeling like you’re already behind. But hey, we’re still close enough to the beginning of the year, so if you haven’t yet resolved to read the Bible all the way through at least once, order the CSB Day-by-Day Chronological Bible and get started right away!
