America’s Hunters: the World’s Largest Army?

By The Right-Wing Teen

My dad forwarded an interesting e-mail to me over Memorial Day weekend. It claims that America’s hunters comprise the world’s largest army. Apparently, this message has been making the rounds for a while. I checked online and saw it dated as early as 1-11-2014. It’s even been posted on the official website of Hank Williams Jr., as seen here: America’s Hunters Pretty Amazing.

Admittedly, to call a bunch of hunters an “army” is a long stretch. And no way is it meant to disparage real military men and women. After all, the U.S. has one of the best trained militaries in the world, and we can be proud of them. But hey, the Royal British Army was professionally trained, while the colonist militia started out as just a bunch of ragtag farmers and shopkeepers. And look who won!

So if the military is busy on the front lines somewhere else, and it comes down to every man for himself, I’m pretty confident that well-armed Americans would be able to take care of themselves. Remember the movie Red Dawn? Like Ronald Reagan said: “We must realize that no arsenal or no weapon in the arsenals of the world is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today’s world do not have. It is a weapon that we, as Americans, do have.”

Per capita, Americans own more firearms than any other nation on earth. As the old saying goes, “You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.” I have always believed that this large country of ours would have to be destroyed from the inside out, vs. being invaded and occupied by an outside force. It’s just not going to happen unless we are disarmed first.

That’s exactly why the Second Amendment was added to the U.S. Constitution as part of the Bill of Rights, which guarantees each and every individual citizen’s protection of basic liberties. In this case, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” The Founders were well aware that any tyrannical government begins with taking away the ability of citizens to defend themselves. Because if the government disarms the citizenry, the citizens cannot defend themselves from the government.

Patrick Henry, who fought tirelessly to add the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution, said: “Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.”

Look at what’s happening in Venezuela right now. Venezuela’s socialist regime banned the civilian ownership of firearms and confiscated their guns just a few years ago. Now as unrest runs rampant in the socialist dictatorship, its citizens are “armed with little more than rocks, sticks and Molotov cocktails” (MiamiHerald.com).

I don’t know how accurate the numbers are in the piece below, but it makes an excellent point regardless. Add to this the vast number of non-hunters who own guns! Just don’t forget to spend adequate time on the shooting range to keep up your skills, be sure to practice safe gun handling, and keep firearms locked up when you’re not using them.

Interesting slant on AMERICA’S HUNTERS — Pretty Amazing!

A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and arrived at a striking conclusion:

There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin…

Allow me to restate that number: 600,000!

Over the last several months, Wisconsin’s hunters became the eighth largest army in the world.

(That’s more men under arms than in Iran. More than France and Germany combined.)

These men, deployed to the woods of a single American state, Wisconsin, to hunt with firearms. And NO ONE WAS KILLED.

That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan ‘s 700,000 hunters, ALL OF WHOM HAVE RETURNED HOME SAFELY.

Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia, and it literally establishes the fact that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. And then add in the total number of hunters in the other 46 states. It’s millions more.

The point?

America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower!

Hunting… it’s not just a way to fill the freezer.

It’s also a matter of national security.

That’s why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed.

Food for thought, when next we consider gun control.

Overall it’s true, so if we disregard some assumptions that hunters don’t possess the same skills as soldiers, the question would still remain…

What army of 2 million would want to face 30 million, 40 million, or 50 million armed citizens???

For the sake of our freedom, don’t ever allow gun control or confiscation of guns.

(IF YOU AGREE, AS I DO, PASS IT ON. I FEEL GOOD THAT I HAVE AN ARMY OF MILLIONS WHO WOULD PROTECT OUR LAND, AND I SURE DON’T WANT THE GOVERNMENT TAKING CONTROL OF THE POSSESSION OF FIREARMS.)

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Designed by geniuses. Now run by idiots.

P.S. If you’ve never seen the movie Red Dawn, check it out. The original 1984 version and the 2012 remake are both good in my opinion.
