Want to get a head start on your Christmas shopping? Amazon is having a second Prime Day this year! You’ll be able to find great deals on Amazon devices as well as brands like Peloton, New Balance, Roomba vacuums and so much more.
Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale will take place on Tuesday, October 11 and Wednesday, October 12 exclusively for Amazon Prime members. This is the first time Amazon is hosting two Prime events in one year, but it’s not the first time Prime Day has been scheduled for October. In 2020 it was held in October due to pandemic-related challenges, but otherwise the sale usually happens in July like it did this summer.
Outside of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Amazon Prime Day has become one of the best opportunities to get major price cuts on nearly everything imaginable. In 2019, it grew into a full two days and offered sales on everything from tech to beauty and fashion. This year’s October event will kick off the 2022 holiday shopping season with category-wide deals. You can expect to see hundreds of thousands of Black Friday-level deals during the 48-hour sale event.
While some sales last throughout the entire duration of the Amazon Prime event, the best deals are generally short-lived and limited in stock. Amazon’s famous Lightning Deals are live only for a few hours and require shoppers to add the finds to their shopping carts rather quickly.
In order to maximize on your savings, you’ll also want to make sure that you download the Amazon Prime app and turn on notifications. Plus, if you have an Amazon Prime credit card, you can also receive an additional 1% reward back on top of the already 5% back from Amazon purchases. We’re talking about doubling up on savings here!
As usual, Amazon Prime deals are available only to Prime subscribers. Getting Amazon Prime discounts is one of the many benefits Prime members have access to, along with fast and free shipping options and Prime Video streaming. If you’ve yet to sign up for a Prime account, now’s the time to do so!
For most subscribers, Amazon Prime costs $14.99 per month, or $139 annually.
Amazon Prime Student membership costs $7.49 per month or $69 for a year
Amazon also offers discounted Prime membership to people who receive certain forms of government assistance. (Click here to see if you qualify.)
