We’re not psychologists, counselors, therapists, or experts – we’re just fellow homeschoolers who are willing to offer a little friendly advice. Sometimes it helps to have a second opinion, and we’re here for you. The Advice Paradise team will answer questions on homeschooling, relationships, religion, and life in general. No question is too trivial. Just ask about anything you want to know! We promise to keep it simple and get straight to the point.
Check out the following questions and see if any of them apply to you, or maybe you’ve been in the same situation and have some helpful advice to give someone else. Post a comment if you think you have a better answer!
1. Why do I have no luck? Every guy I have I’ve dated has told me I am everything they could want, too good to be true. Yet, still alone. Help me understand please.
These guys did wrong. Keep your dreams, do not settle. Go to a Bible Concordance: search the scriptures for every instance where marriage, wedding, bride, and husband are mentioned. Read about them carefully. Be patient. The right guy is out there, and he is wondering if he will ever find the right girl. You are that girl.
2. How is it that gun activists seem to think Trump is the one to protect their freedom to possess firearms?
Because Trump said that he will. Biden said he won’t.
3. I’m 19 years old and still live with my parents. My dad comes in my room and says go to sleep… it’s 11:30pm on a Friday night. I say I’m not tired and he starts an argument saying I always disobey him. I’m so tired of stuff like this. What should I do?
Relax, you have a dad who cares about you. Submit to the will of your dad. Give him honor and respect. Say “Yes Sir” in a humble, sincere, and loving way. Make him feel like the king of the small realm under his roof. Give him a hug and say “Goodnight Dad.” If you can’t sleep, read a book in bed, preferably the Bible. The Fifth Commandment states: “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12). Know that you are doing God’s will when you behave this way. You may also experience an improved relationship with your dad.
4. What month do you start preparing for Christmas?
November, the weekend just after Thanksgiving, we start decorating our house. But for some reason I always hum Christmas tunes in July. No idea why!
[Actually, Christmas in July is a real thing! See: https://www.realsimple.com/holidays-entertaining/holidays/christmas-in-july -Ed.]
