Those that graduate with one of these degrees will enter into an exploding field with historically high wages. Currently, the three areas that pay biomedical engineers the most are physicians’ offices, specialized design services, and research and development facilities. Biomedical engineering careers are expected to grow by 27 percent between now and 2022.
