Tired of playing Angry Birds? We’ve compiled a list of our favorite mobile games that are completely free to play. (A few of them will want you to pay for special items such as extra levels and power-ups, but you can have fun playing these games without making any in-app purchases.) They are listed in no particular order.
Pinball Pro – This game features detailed re-creations of the all-time greatest pinball tables, complete with realistic ball physics, atmospheric music and sound effects.
Glow Hockey – Air hockey with an injection of neon. Easy to play, hard to master. Challenge yourself with the computer opponents or play with your friends!
Plague Inc. – Nurture a disease from a tiny infection into a global pandemic by setting symptoms, resistances, and vectors for infection. Though destroying humanity isn’t exactly fun, this darkly entertaining simulation is addicting because you need to employ true strategy, a trait that most apps lack.
Bad Piggies – A clever physics game in which you try and figure out how to do things by making contraptions using machines, explosives, engines, wheels, bellows, propellers, springs, etc. It requires some creative thinking to score maximum stars. Good clean fun for the whole family!
Flow Free – A simple yet addictive puzzle game. Connect matching colors with pipe by drawing clear paths on a grid to create a flow. But watch out, the pipes will break if they cross or overlap! It starts out ridiculously easy but becomes quite challenging as you progress through the many levels.
Bad Traffic – You are in control of traffic rushing into the intersection. The cars are coming fast. Which ones to accelerate? Which ones to stop? The Guardian Angel will help you save cars but the Devil’s Advocate wants you to crash them.
Hungry Shark Evo – Experience life as a shark while you chomp your way to the top of the food chain in this fast-paced aquatic eat ’em-up. “Evolve” from a Reef Shark to a Mako Shark, Hammerhead, Tiger Shark, Great White, and finally an enormous Megalodon!
Jurassic Park Builder – Build your own Jurassic Park from the ground up! Collect and grow various dinosaur species from amber filled with dinosaur DNA. Then develop and decorate your park.
Wingsuit Lite – Put on your wingsuit, leap from the mountain top, and hurtle through the air as close to the cliff as possible for maximum points and perform tricks to boost your score. Go back and watch cinematic replays of your finest moments.
Simon for Android – Improve your memory and train your brain with this classic puzzle game that has four colored buttons, each producing a particular tone. Simply copy the pattern and repeat – how far can you go? Great for both children and adults!
Pitfall – Escape the wrath of an angry volcano while collecting ancient treasures in this free-running adventure set in a deadly jungle with twists and turns that will always keep you on your toes. Swipe and tilt controls, power-ups, vehicles, and changing camera angles add variety to the look and feel of it all.
Train Sim – A simple but fun 3D train simulator that allows you to control the speed and direction of a train as it goes around a track. Switch between day/night mode, choose from five scenes and 28 realistic train models, each with horn/bell sounds. You can also change the camera angle and sit inside the trains.
