A CHRIST Led Life

What is living your life for Christ really about? This is a question that frequently comes to mind for me. An inquiry that I know most likely have more than one answer. But after asking for counsel from God and a few of my spiritual leaders I found out that living a Christ led life is ALL about the Heart.

The Bible says in Proverbs 4:23 “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” (NLT) and in Proverbs 7:25 “Let not your heart turn aside to her ways; do not stray into her paths.” As you probably noticed the heart is very important. We are told to not only guard it but to also let it not turn aside. The Bible also says in Luke 6:45: “The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” If a person heart has not accepted Christ into their heart or their heart is evil, good cannot be produced from their life so they cannot live a Christ led life. So as Christian professors we must “Put to death therefore what is earthly in you (us): sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry” (Colossians 3:5) and daily ask for God to “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10) as well as Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Finally my brothers and sisters in CHRIST remember that even though Psalm 73:26 says “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever,” you are never alone when you have the Holy Spirit, and Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Never allow yourself to become conformed to this world for if you do Satan the tempter will ply your mind and influence your thoughts, your thoughts will turn into words, your words will seep into your heart, and out of your heart it will turn into action. So lastly, please remember Proverbs 4:1-27: “Let your heart hold fast my words (GOD’S WORDS); keep my commandments, and live. Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth (GOD’S MOUTH).”
