Dear Readers,
Happy November! With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to remember things to be thankful for every day. I’d like to take this moment to tell you how grateful I am that you are a loyal reader of Homeschooling Teen magazine.
I hope we’re publishing articles that you enjoy reading. We try to cover a variety of topics so there’s something for everyone. If not, let us know what we can do better!
I must admit, I’ve been having trouble keeping up this year. I’m the only editor here and I do this part-time on a volunteer basis in my spare time. So it’s not like someone is always in the office, ha.
We’re all stretched for time; that’s hardly a new challenge, but it seems to get harder every year. My problem is, I’ll have everything all planned out and it may be a tight timetable but even so I’ll be zooming along right on track. That is, until some unexpected circumstance comes up.
I swear, it’s like clockwork. Something always happens to interfere with Homeschooling Teen‘s monthly publication date. Every. Single. Time. No matter what day of the month I schedule it! How do these things know??? And what do they have against me getting published on time??? Since it keeps happening over and over again, you’d think I would have learned by now to factor in extra time for unforeseen contingencies. Ugh!
Not to mention, even though Homeschooling Teen is a labor of love, there’s been a lot going on in my life lately which takes precedence. I’m so far behind on my emails, it’s ridiculous! So if I don’t write back in a timely manner or get every issue published on time, I hope you will understand.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed like I am, this is a good time of year to slow down and reflect on what’s really important to YOU, because you have an obligation to yourself too. It’s not all about other people’s expectations. It’s fine to help others, but you only have so many hours in a day. So don’t be afraid to say NO. (Talking to myself here.)
This is also a good time to count your blessings. For one thing, I guess being too busy is better than being too bored, ha. And I’m not only grateful for my READERS, but also for my WRITERS. There wouldn’t even be a Homeschooling Teen magazine without either of you. Thank you so much! I truly appreciate you 🙂
My email is mail@homeschoolingteen.com if you want to contact me. And if I take too long to answer, don’t worry, I won’t be offended if you send me a followup reminder!
Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Homeschooling!
