Dear Readers,
Happy March!
Spring is coming, and bringing with it longer daylight times, warmer temperatures, and blooming flowers. After the winter dormant period, the outdoors come alive and revive, making everything feel new again. The season is full of rain, light, and freshness, filling the air with hope.
Did You Know??? Meteorological seasons follow consistent calendar dates, whereas astronomical seasons abide by seasonal equinoxes and solstices.
Meteorologists mark March 1 as the beginning of Spring, because that allows them to use the same dates every year to gather and compare data.
The start of spring is still a few weeks off for those who follow the astronomical calendar. Astronomical spring begins on the spring equinox, which occurs between the dates of March 19 to 21. (In the Northern Hemisphere, it’s March 20th this year.)
Oh, and don’t forget! St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17th. I love wearing green! What is your favorite thing about March?
Happy Homeschooling!
