The Library of Wisdom is my very first Book Nook kit, and I think I ended up with the most complicated one to start with, LOL. First let me say, this would be great for giving as a gift to a teen or adult who likes books, dollhouses, puzzles and crafts. As someone who loves books and dollhouses but never really got into LEGOs, it’s perfect for me. It gives off a more cozy, warm feel than plastic building toys.
It will obviously take some time and patience to put this Book Nook together. I don’t think it’s something that you’d want to do all in one sitting. They say it takes 5-8 hours, so we’ll see. In comparison, some of the other kits only take 2-3 hours. This one contains 281 pieces and the instruction booklet is 20 pages! The finished project will be 4” wide x 7” deep x 9” tall. It will look nice on a bookcase in between real books.
When you first open up the box, it smells strongly of wood and paint. There are lots of stickers, and a bag of accessories including a light and wiring. They even include a dust cover to protect your display when it’s finished! You will need wood glue, craft glue, or silicone liquid glue (like the Kuretake Zig 2 Way Glue Pen variety set) for this project, and 2 AAA batteries for the lighting effects.
The imaginary Library of Wisdom is three stories high, complete with staircases, and lots of interesting little details. Peeking through the door, which opens and closes, the artwork and everything really does make you feel like you’re stepping into an old Renaissance-Era library. Each floor offers a different viewpoint. It makes for a super cool and unique conversation piece!
