New Original Series: County Rescue

Are you interested in a career in health care or as a first responder? Looking forward to becoming an EMT or paramedic? Check out this new family-friendly medical drama series, COUNTY RESCUE, on Great American Pure Flix starting February 23, 2024!

COUNTY RESCUE is all about a unit of EMTs in Tennessee, each of whom saves lives while navigating their own life, love, and faith. EMTs are courageous, everyday heroes who work long shifts, must cope with some tough calls, and can suffer from emotional and physical burnout.

COUNTY RESCUE specifically focuses on the prospective EMTs hoping to join the crew. They are in a probationary period and only one of them can join because there is only one opening. It’s challenging to qualify for this critical job, putting them under pressure to go above and beyond.

The series shows how new recruits join with a vision of why they want to be part of the team. They are enthusiastic, and yet apprehensive. It also affirms that there is always hope, even when things look bad, and that it is possible to bounce back from failure.

COUNTY RESCUE balances the rescue scenes with the interpersonal relationships back at the station. Every member of the organization has their own lives and their own problems, as well as quirks in their personalities. There are likeable characters and not-so-likeable characters, but they all play their parts so well that it’s like watching real people and not actors.

I love how several of the characters in a very matter-of-fact way talk about their faith in Jesus. It’s as much a part of their lives as working, eating, and sleeping. They look to fellow Christians as well as prayer for help. It’s nice to see a group of close-knit believers support each other in this manner, which doesn’t often happen in the workplace.

I was fortunate to be offered a pre-screening of this series for the purpose of writing a review. I just finished binge-watching the first five episodes of COUNTY RESCUE and all I can say is, I can’t wait for Season Two!

The series stars Julia Reilly as Dani, and Riley Hough as Tim, two EMT rookies. It also features Stacey Patino, Percy Bell, Tim Perez-Ross, Keller Fornes, Angel Luis, Kristin Wollett, and Brett Varvel.
