A Biblical Case Against Theistic Evolution
By R.E. Olsen

A Biblical Case Against Theistic Evolution is definitely a scholarly work. It’s meant for edification, not for light reading. I’m giving it a first read-through, then I’ll go back and study it more in depth because it really requires you to look up a lot of things.

With each chapter written by a professor in theology, the premise of the book is basically this: the Bible consistently states that God created the entire world including people. If Adam and Eve were the very first people, then you can’t believe in millions and billions of years.

Some Christians want to get along with the prevailing belief that evolution is true. They attempt to say that the Creation story is not real history, but rather an allegory, and that God set evolution in motion. Dr. Wayne Grudem and other leading theological scholars challenge the belief that Genesis is symbolic.

In reality, you will find precious little support in the Bible itself for theistic evolution. This book explains over and over how theistic evolution is incompatible with the Bible. Indeed, the Bible is consistently anti-evolution, and consistently says that man was handmade by God.

A Biblical Case Against Theistic Evolution examines 12 key biblical events in Genesis 1-3, and compares statements by the writers in the Old and New Testaments. All of these writers treated the Creation story written in Genesis as history. This includes Jesus and His apostles.

Dr. Grudem and the others emphasize that the Bible is consistent from beginning to end as to how people came to be. Therefore, the person who believes that God used evolution is going against ALL of the Bible writers, not just Moses who wrote the first book.

Christians who believe in theistic evolution should read this book and confront the ideas in it. They will have to conclude that either the Bible is trustworthy or it is not, and that Jesus knew what He was talking about or He did not.
