The Social Life of the App Addicted Teen

Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat . . . As a teen, you probably know all of this lingo, even if your parents look at you cross-eyed when you make mention of one of these apps. Times are changing and these days, the majority of teenagers have a smartphone. In fact, over 95% of teens in the United States have access to the internet. You better believe that access is being put to good use.

Even just ten years ago, hangouts with your friends had to be arranged by mom and dad, and they didn’t happen all the time. Today, you could be hanging out with your friend and not even be in the same room, thanks to the wide variety of social apps that you likely have downloaded on your phone. Is it a negative thing that teens are so constantly connected to the mobile world? That question may be answered differently, depending on who you ask, but our guess is that any teens in question would respond with a resounding “No!”
