Letter from the Editor: June 2025

Dear Readers,

Happy June! This month we can enjoy the best of both seasons – Spring and Summer! The last day of spring is June 20th, which ushers in the Summer Solstice. That’s the longest day of the year, so it will give you plenty of time to have fun and get things done!

The quote “Spring is the time of plans and projects” by Leo Tolstoy in Anna Karenina reflects the idea that spring inspires hope and the anticipation of new beginnings. It emphasizes the importance of planning and taking action during this vibrant season.

Follow that with the summer proverb “Make hay while the sun shines,” and seize the moment by taking advantage of favorable circumstances while they last. This idea comes from the literal process of drying hay, which must be done when the weather is sunny to prevent it from spoiling.

Applied to life, these quotes encourage proactive action – whether it’s capitalizing on opportunities, working hard when conditions are right, or preparing for the future before challenges arise. Now’s the time!

Happy Homeschooling!
