Spring is almost here! And that means planting season! Now you can grow your own virtual crops, even if you don’t have a green thumb for gardening. Farming Simulator is a realistic farming simulation game series developed by Giants Software. The locations are based on American and European environments. Players are able to take on the challenging world of a modern day farmer by engaging in everyday activities such as planting and harvesting crops, breeding livestock, selling produce in a dynamic marketplace, woodcutting, and more.
Farming Simulator 17 was released on October 25, 2016. It has a new map, new tractors, new animals to breed, new crops, and tons of new gameplay features. For the first time in the base game, soybeans, sunflowers (my favorite!), and oil seed radishes are introduced as growable crops. In previous games, the user would have had to download a mod to add these crops. Also, the crop growing mechanics have been altered to allow different ways to increase crop yield. These include fertilizing the fields multiple times throughout the growth stages, ploughing the field after a set amount of harvests, de-weeding crops, or using oil seed radish as a cover crop.
With immersive visual effects, a massive open environment, lots of detail, and a huge fleet of vehicles, Farming Simulator 17 is an exciting and rewarding farming simulation. You can play offline or you can play online if you want to grow your farm with others and download mods created by the passionate Farming Simulator community. There is a mod hub built right into the game. (Mods are available for PS4, X1 and PC.) This is a fun sim game for all ages, especially if you are a farmer at heart. Like other sim games, it will mesmerize you so that you lose track of time. Little kids love to watch, too!
