Thank you for your interest in Homeschooling Teen. We truly appreciate our regular contributors and columnists who make this monthly online magazine the educational, encouraging, and entertaining resource our readers have come to expect.

Homeschooling Teen is always looking for writers who have an enlightening message or informative insights to share with other homeschooling teens around the world!

That’s right, Homeschooling Teen magazine needs submissions from YOU!

If you enjoy writing (whether it be fiction, nonfiction, poetry, etc.), creating artwork, photography, making comic strips, or any other form of self-expression, you should consider submitting your work. Maybe you’ve written a poem that our readers would enjoy, or perhaps you want to bring attention to someone who deserves recognition. Send us your editorials and essays, reviews and reports. By submitting your work to us, you give Homeschooling Teen permission to publish your work on the Homeschooling Teen website and/or in our magazine. As the author you will retain the copyright and the rights to publish your work elsewhere. That’s only fair since we can’t offer any compensation other than the satisfaction of seeing your work in print.

We cannot guarantee, however, that all submissions will be accepted. Content must be well-written and provide reader interest. Please e-mail submissions (and accompanying photos if available) along with your name and age to:

Do you love to write, or have a passion for journalism? You can be a Homeschooling Teen Columnist!

If you are interested in the writing profession or becoming a journalist, I encourage you to join our student staff! Homeschooling Teen magazine provides a unique and valuable opportunity to gain real world experience writing for an online publication. Your work will be seen by thousands of readers every month in several different countries. If this is something that interests you, feel free to apply at any time. Although not a paid position, it will look great on a college application or resume!

If you would like to write for Homeschooling Teen magazine on a regular basis, please submit a sample article to:

Include the following information:

1. Your name and age.

2. How many years you’ve been homeschooled. (We only accept articles from students who are currently educated at home, or homeschool graduates.)

3. Info on any previous writing or journalism experience (family newsletters, homeschool yearbook, journalism or creative writing classes, web blog, etc.). NOTE: Although prior experience is helpful, it is NOT absolutely necessary.

4. The reason why you want to take on the challenge of a monthly column, and what you will contribute.

5. Topics you wish to write about (homeschool happenings, homeschool humor, pop culture, movie reviews, books, games, current events, technology, travel, nature, history, etc.).

E-mail your answers to the above questions along with a copy of your writing sample to:

P.S. Once you are accepted for a position, we will need a brief bio (to be used as your byline) which may include hobbies, interests, school activities, post-high school plans, career aspirations, etc.

ATTENTION PARENTS & OTHER ADULTS!

We also publish articles by homeschool parents and other adults on related topics of interest – mainly about teens, homeschooling, college and careers. This would include reviews of curriculum used, high school and college advice, unit study ideas, family adventures, home businesses, volunteer experiences, local events for teens in your area, etc. If it’s something that a teen homeschooler is doing or would be interested in, it should be featured in Homeschooling Teen! Are you a seasoned writer, instructor, or recognized authority in your field? Homeschooling Teen is seeking volunteer feature contributors and guest columnists. If you are willing to provide quality articles on topics related to teen homeschoolers or anything of interest to teenage homeschool students, your byline can be featured in Homeschooling Teen!       Christy, that’s a great question. The articles have always come out monthly so far, but we’ve been thinking of adding a weekly column or if you feel up to writing a daily column, go for it!

  10. Homeschooling teens can learn languages (French, Spanish, English, etc right from the comfort of their home.
    With the advent of technology the homeschooling concept is gaining momentum.
    Wont be surprised to see this catching up completely in the next 20 years.
