Bryant & Stratton College

Bryant & Stratton is a unique college that offers a mix of challenging academics, practical education, and real world experience through a flexible, contemporary curriculum in a personalized environment. This proprietary college has been providing vocational education and training for 160 years!

Bryant & Stratton was first established in 1854 as a business institute focused on bookkeeping and standardized penmanship. The original building was located in downtown Buffalo, New York. Influenced by 19th century educator Platt Spencer, the originator of Spencerian penmanship, the school became quite well-known. Notable early students were John D. Rockefeller and Henry Ford.

Today, Bryant & Stratton College locations include 18 different cities in New York, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin as well as online, giving students the freedom to take classes in person or through distance learning. The college maintains its focus on business but is now an accredited degree-granting institution that has evolved with the changing marketplace to offer a variety of relevant programs in leading industries.

Every academic program at Bryant & Stratton is specifically designed, based on feedback from professionals, to meet the needs of today’s employers and give students the skills they need to succeed in the workplace. Bachelor’s, associate’s, and professional certificates of completion are offered in Accounting, Business, Criminal Justice, Paralegal, Nursing and Medical Assisting, Information Technology, Human Resources, Management, Financial Services, Interactive Media and Graphic Design. However, not all programs are offered at every Bryant & Stratton campus or online. Please refer to the college website at www.bryantstratton.edu for program availability by location.

Bryant & Stratton College seeks students of all ages who desire practical career preparation in selected fields of study and have a proven ability to achieve academic success. Prospective students must demonstrate a teachable foundation for higher education such as a high school diploma, GED, or homeschool program as defined by the law of the state in which the homeschooling was provided. The college welcomes inquiries from high school students and their parents in their junior year.

Bryant & Stratton also partners with Penn Foster High School to offer a high school diploma program at select locations. Eligible students who have already completed at least ten high school credits can obtain a diploma with a concentration in Building Technology, Heath Care, or Information Technology by taking early college courses. Additional college-level high school electives include: English Composition, Technical Writing, Art, Music, Math, Psychology, Economics, and Computer Applications.

Bryant & Stratton is listed as a Top Military School by GI Jobs and Military Advanced Education Magazine. All locations, including online, are accredited regionally by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The college has also received reviews for its innovative approach to online programs. In fact, Bryant & Stratton holds the record for being the first ever college to have an official graduation online in “Second Life.”

By providing a tight-knit, supportive community, students at Bryant & Stratton gain the confidence and focus they need to make satisfying life choices during school and after graduation. Students are encouraged to work with and discuss problems with faculty and advisors while taking time to learn about their individual goals and strengths as they continue on the path towards lifelong learning.

Bryant & Stratton College has a reputation not only for its personal touch in academics, but also for making application for financial aid an easy process via student loans, grants and scholarships. The academic cycle for online programs is year-round, and students may register for online classes any time of the year. Students can take classes in accelerated formats, online, during evenings and weekends, and in traditional settings, depending on their individual goals and situations.

The Career Services Department at Bryant & Stratton aims to educate students on the latest hiring trends to increase their chances of getting hired. The department also helps students develop their resumes, prepare for job interviews, search for jobs in their field, and use their social media presence to attract employers while protecting their online reputation.
